For the first time in Campion’s history, the Student Council Presidential election was open to the school body. It was an almost unanimous decision to elect Theophilus Nelson of 6B as our new president. A young man who is well known for his football prowess, Theo is an ambitious, dedicated and passionate Campionite who is very adamant about bringing about comfort and change for the students. In this pursuit, he gained the masses attention and respect in his captivating and inspirational speech which stated:
As the great Martin Luther King Jr said: “Life’s most urgent question is what are you doing for others? So Campion, allow me, Theophilus Aloysious Nelson the privilege of being your chief servant, by electing me to be your Student Council President, for the year 2008-2009. |

The moment was suspended from silent and mutual understanding as we stood there in honour of those who have fallen in the prime of their life. The scripture reading opened our mind while the prayer opened our hearts to the powerful message of peace and togetherness. |

Jomarie Malcolm and her team should be commended for staging what is arguably the best concert Campion College has ever put on. The event started late with the audience getting a bit restless, but as the MC took centerstage and Shaken and Stirred got on its way there was no stopping. I was amazed as the concert exceeded my expectations. I did not know the Campion had so much talent. Miss Malcolm, with her intuition, provided a platform for the future boy bands, dancers, dramatists, soloists and lil waynes to show off what they got which was well received by the ever hard to please Campion audience. Coverage of the talent show can be found at my website d-mixlive.com. By Austin Whitter |

Although the event was less supported than last year, Campion’s Second Annual Give Back Day was an overall success. There was a great sense of teamwork among the students and parents in the six houses, especially when they had to repaint and re-clean their respective areas after the unforgiving rain. Even though the houses were strapped for time, they all managed to complete their tasks for the day. After their hard work, the students were rewarded with delicious sandwiches, cakes, and refreshing drinks. |
